Power ScubaPower Scuba Is a local diver club that organizes via meetup.com as well as their Facebook page. They organize multiple shore dives during the week as well as multiple boat dives and are welcoming to the new and advanced diver alike. Dive Animals Scuba ClubDive Animals Is a club that owns its own dive boat. For a small yearly fee you're given the chance to sign up for dives on their boat which holds up to 4 divers. Check out their website for more information. The club is very independent so its recommended for more advanced divers. La Jolla ShoresLa Jolla shores is one of the most popular shore dive sites in San Diego. The area has shallow dives with lots of fish and plantslife as well as deeper dives for the more experienced diver. Here you'll find turtles, octopus, sea lions, Garibaldi and much more. It can also be a great area for snorkeling as well. If you'd like to see the Leopard sharks during the summer months or other life year round check out the Marine Room area. For more dives check out all the videos we have of the area. There's so much to explore here. La Jolla CoveThe other popular scuba dive site is La Jolla Cove. Find parking near by, gear up, walk down the stairs and hit the water. There's a nice diversity of dives to choose from in this area ranging from sea caves to kelp forests to beautiful rock gardens and reefs. The La Jolla Cove kelp forest is one of the biggest reasons to visit this area. When you enter at the cove and head out and to the left you'll find them. Within this area you'll see giant sea bass, seven gill sharks and a variety of fish. If you pay close attention you might even see the multiple memorial stones that have been placed here over the years to memorialize members of the Bottom Scratchers dive club that was one of the first spearfishing clubs. The club isn't around any longer but headstones for the early divers in the area are. Wreck AlleyIf boat diving in San Diego is what you're looking for then you should check out Wreck Alley with one of the local charters. Here you'll be able to dive multiple ship wrecks including the HMCS Yukon, Ruby E, Old Ingram Street Bridge to name a few. The most popular wreck is the HMCS Yukon which is a 366' Canadian destroyer that was sunk as a scuba diving attraction in the year 2000. You can enjoy exploring this dive at depths of up to 100' at the ocean floor. If you have your wreck diver certification you can explore the interior of the wreck including a pathway called Burma Road which runs almost the entire length of deck 3. If wreck diving is what you're after then this is one of the best that san Diego has to offer. Point LomaPoint Loma Kelp forests are the other popular boat dive in San Diego. Located between San Diego bay and Mission Bay this dive area offers a huge diversity of sealife including 7 gill sharks and a Varity of other fish. The kelp forests cover a large area with many dives sites to offer. You'll spend years diving this area and still not see everything it has to offer. In addition to the Kelp Forests you can dive the Ancient Sea Cliffs with are a bit farther west from the Kelp Forests. Dives here typically start at about 45'. In addition to the kelp forest dives if you head farter west you'll find the ancient sea cliffs which start at about 100' and go down to 130'+ feet and beyond.
